Darn Good Prints

For the first photography assignment of the year, we were tasked to shoot "dusk and dawn."
I have always loved to play with light and portraiture, so I decided to photograph my model in different lights representing dawn and dusk. Dawn makes me think of bright natural light, so I set up in front of a large window and let the light stream in, casting morning shadows on my model. When I think of dusk, I think of night time lights. To shoot the "dusk" aspect of the assignment, I used a concrete wall and a shop light which cast a harsher shadow.

The final part of this assignment was to take a film photo and create a painting.
This is a photo taken in Balboa Park in SanDiego, California. I used both paints and colored pencils to make it look like a painting.

Throwback Snapshots

Snapshot Aesthetic - Photos taken in the moment, not posed

These photos show a snapshot aesthetic.
They seem to have been taken in the moment and during everyday life.

Star Books and Possible Creations

I love the idea of these star books. They are fun to make and great to give as gifts.

Inspiring Self Portraits

All of these images were interesting to me. Some I liked the lighting, some I liked the editing techniques, and some I liked because the image seems to reveal something about the artist.
